Latina Institute New York is part of National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, serving to amplify the Latina/x voice, organizing, and advocacy presence in New York. Since 2004, we work with activists and leaders throughout New York City, with a focus in the Bronx, to inform, organize, and mobilize our communities on reproductive justice issues that impact our families and our lives.
Even in a progressive state like New York, our work in this movement is vital. Many Latinas/xs in New York face the same hurdles to get healthcare that we see across the country. At the Latina Institute New York, we help our activists look beyond barriers and fight for the future they want for their communities.
Key Issues for New York
Fighting against anti-abortion centers
Latina Institute New York fights against mis/disinformation by being a reputable source of comprehensive and culturally competent reproductive health education. Our Fuera Fake “Clinics” campaign aims to expose the deceptive tactics used to target our communities. We work with lawmakers to advance legislation that would study the impact of these centers on our communities.
