Statement from Andrea Medina-Alvarado, Texas Policy Advocate, National Latina for Reproductive Justice, on the House passage of SB33

This bill is yet another attack on pregnant Texans, their families, and our communities as anti-abortion legislators make it even harder for people to get the abortion care they need. It’s bad enough that we can’t get the care we need in our own communities, and now legislators want to punish anyone who supports Texans seeking care in other states where abortion care is legal.

The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice fights for access to reproductive health care with dignity and justice for everyone in our communities. We will keep fighting for a future in which everyone has the right to make their own decisions about their bodies and their lives.
