“We are deeply frustrated about Congress’ inability to extend the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced Premium Tax Credits and what this means for millions of Latines across the country who already struggle to access and pay for health coverage. Nearly five million people are expected to lose their health insurance. This will only lead to more delayed treatment, skipped medications, and worsened health outcomes.
“Allowing these tax credits to expire makes health care costs more expensive for everyone. Rather than offering any real solutions to our current health care crisis, anti-abortion politicians are advancing policies that dismantle our already weakened public health programs, target immigrants, and limit access to lifesaving care, including abortion care and health care for transgender people. They’re pushing care further out of reach for families struggling to make ends meet and threatening the health and well-being of our communities.
“Everyone — no matter who they are, where they live, what insurance they have, or how much money they make — should be able to get the health care they need so that they can live safe, healthy lives and raise their families with dignity.”
