Where We Are

The Latina Institute Virginia

Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice Virginia

The Latina Institute Virginia is part of National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice. We fight for equal access to reproductive health for Latina/x communities. We center Latina/x voices to change the narratives and transform the systems that Latinas/xs and their communities are up against.

We fight to continue to change Virginia at the political and structural level, while helping our activists transform at the personal level.

At the Latina Institute Virginia, our goal is simple: amplify the voices of Latinas/xs so that they can lead in creating a Virginia with true reproductive freedom for all.

Background of the Latina Institute Virginia

Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice Virginia was established after a Latinas Organizing for Leadership and Advocacy training held in Virginia in 2012. Through civic engagement and community mobilizing, the Latina Institute Virginia is building a large base of Latinas/xs who use a reproductive justice lens to organize their communities for change.

  • We work to increase Latina/x visibility in the reproductive justice movement.
  • We cultivate well-informed leaders to strengthen our state and national reproductive justice work.
  • We build networks of activists in Virginia to inform our policy agenda.
