“Our new policy brief, Medicaid: A Lifeline for Latines and Immigrants, highlights what we’ve long known: cuts and restrictions to Medicaid disproportionately harm Latine and immigrant communities. Specifically, nearly one in three Latines are enrolled in Medicaid for their health care, including for their comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care needs. Cuts to Medicaid will strip away essential care from millions of people, lead to the closure of hundreds of trusted health centers that all community members depend on, and deepen the existing health care crisis for Latines all around the country. This is a grave attack on our health, our economic security, and our safety .
“Everyone — no matter who they are, where they live, what insurance they have, or how much money they make—should be able to get the health care they need. We’ll keep working toward a future where everyone can live safe, healthy lives and raise their families with dignity.”
