The Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice - Virginia seeks a part-time community mobilization intern to assist our field coordinator in the day-to-day workflow of Latina Institute VA and our ongoing community mobilization efforts. Over the course of 20 hours a week, the intern will be responsible for assisting our field coordinator in recruiting and preparing for several virtual events over the coming months. . In addition, interns may also support field and advocacy with community education, administrative and civic engagement activities /x power in their community.


  • Ensure all data collected in ThruText is added to our CRM Database
  • Support with event and material preparation, facilitation and technology, and data entry for virtual meetings with activists
  • Provide logistical support during the planning phase of the signature Latinas Organizing for Leadership and Advocacy (LOLA training) taking place in July 2021
  • Assist the field coordinator with volunteer and activist recruitment and follow-up for civic engagement efforts and monthly community events
  • Follow up via email, text, and phone calls with those who have RSVP’d to attend virtual events with Latina Institute
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated;
  • Ability to connect with people of varying backgrounds;
  • Strong written and interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills;
  • Experience as a team captain or managing volunteers is a plus
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, and adaptive personality
  • Strong time management skills
  • Must be comfortable communicating directly with community members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge of Virginia’s political landscape is a plus
  • Must live in VA, MD, or DC
  • Must be able to work some evenings as needed


SALARY: $17/hour
