Director of Human Resources


Elizabeth Vega serves as the Director of Human Resources at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health where she is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all of NLIRH’s Human Resources functions.​

Elizabeth is an accomplished non-profit Human Resources professional with over six years of experience. She has dedicated her career to organizations that strengthen disenfranchised populations. Most recently, she served as the Senior Human Resources Generalist and  Recruiter at The Fortune Society, a non-profit organization committed to helping individuals with criminal justice involvement transition back into society. There, Elizabeth served as a business partner to Fortune Society’s fastest growing and largest unit, I-CAN. She implemented organizational policies, strengthened processes and designed and implemented a talent management approach that included competency models for hiring managers to use, a comprehensive on-boarding process and developed performance management systems that were instrumental to the success of the unit. Elizabeth also counseled leadership on a variety of issues and partnered with them to manage employee relations organization wide.​

Prior to joining NLIRH as Director of Human Resources she worked at the Guttmacher Institute where she was instrumental in leading the expansion of their research unit as well as drafting and implementing new policies.  Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary College. She’s currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations at Baruch College’s Zicklin school of Business.
