Our Campaigns
NLIRH currently has three campaigns:
- Basta! 30 Years is Enough! Repeal the Hyde Amendment
- Immigration as a Matter of Reproductive Justice
- "Cuídate. Ármate. Edúcate." Latinas for Cervical Cancer Prevention Campaign
!Basta! 30 Years is Enough: Repeal the Hyde Amendment
Join Latina Institute in opposing the Hyde Amendment, a bill that prohibits federal funding for abortions. Congress has renewed this restriction every year since 1976, and this legislation disproportionately affects low-income women and women of color. We must ensure that all women, regardless of socio-economic status, have access to safe and affordable abortions. More
Immigration as a Matter of Reproductive Justice
We believe reproductive health and rights organizations must be dedicated to promoting the basic values of dignity, justice, and self-determination to speak out in support of the basic principles of immigration reform, which include a path to citizenship and protection for all immigrant families. "Cuídate. Ármate. Edúcate." Latinas for Cervical Cancer Prevention Campaign
While cervical cancer rates are dropping overall, Latinas continue to contract HPV and develop cervical cancer at a staggering and alarming rate. Latinas have the highest incident rate of cervical cancer amongst all groups of women and the second highest mortality rate after African-American women. NLIRH initiated the "Cuídate. Ármate. Edúcate." Campaign to ensure that Latinas access the latest reproductive health technology, including the HPV vaccine, and timely preventative services. More
